ColorOS 5.2 OTA Stable Update Now Available for OPPO Realme 2 and Realme C1
ColorOS 5.2 OTA update was first rolled out for Realme 1 smartphones in December 2018. Now the company has started to roll out this update for Realme 2 and Realme C1. OPPO previously announced that Realme C1 will be getting the updates after Realme 2 gets it, but they have decided to roll the update out for both the smartphones simultaneously. With these updates, Realme 2 Pro also received an update with security patch and battery optimization features.
In the official website, OPPO has talked about the rollout of ColorOS 5.2 update for Realme 2 and Realme C1. The update is also available to be downloaded from the official webpage as well. This website also has detailed instruction on how to install OTA packages.
What’s new in ColorOS 5.2
The software carries the build number RMX1805EX_11.A.21. From the changelogs, we can see that there will be the feature to swipe from left to right to dismiss notifications. In the status, bar headset icon will be present in ColorOS 5.2. The changelog also tells about enhancement in multi-tasking features of ColorOS.
ColorOS also packed in Google Assistant support with its version number 5.2. Long pressing the home button for 0.5 seconds will enable the assistant. This update also brings in the feature of reminding the user when developer options, accessibility mode, and device manager are left open. In addition to all of these features ColorOS also brings in Google’s security patch for December.
After all these changes and updates the only disappointing thing is that ColorOS 5.2 is still on android Oreo. In 2019, we hope that OPPO will integrate Android Pie with ColorOS. The Realme India support handle has already confirmed the arrival of Android Pie for Realme 1 and Realme 2 smartphones. Recently launched Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1 might also receive the update.
