Apple has unveiled an all-new eighth-generation iPad Air on September 15, 2020. The new iPad Air looks very similar to iPad Pro but has much thinner bezels and an all-around retina display with the most colors in the history of iPad.
The new iPad Air is much improved as compared to the previous generation iPad Air, which comes with a physical button for Touch ID and thicker top and bottom bezels.

iPad Air features a 10.9 inches Liquid Retina display of 2360×1640 resolution, unlike last generation’s iPad Air, which comes with 10.5 inches display and a physical Touch ID button in the front. There’s still a Touch ID on the new iPad Air but it’s integrated on its flat side which also acts as a power button, the first iPad with a side-mounted flat Touch ID sensor. The display also has an anti-reflective coating that supports P3 wide color gamut and also supports Apple’s True Tone color change feature.
Talking about the camera, the new iPad Air comes with the same rear camera of 12-megapixel as seen in iPad Pro but with image stabilization. In front, it sports a 7-megapixels FaceTime HD camera with smart HDR and 1080p video recording at 60fps.

Another major highlight of the new Ipad Air is performance. Apple claims 40 percent faster performance over the last year’s iPad Air with Apple’s all-new hexacore (two high, four low) 5nm A14 Bionic chip which fits 11.8 billion transistors and 30 percent faster graphics with better gaming, editing experience with minimal battery usage. The chip also includes specific machine learning accelerators, which certain apps will make use of.
iPad Air comes in five color options of silver, space gray, rose gold, green, and Sky Blue.
How much will iPad Air 2020 cost?
The new power-packed iPad Air still lacks Face ID, blazing 120Hz display and lidar camera as seen in iPad Pro will go live in October with a starting price of INR 54,900 and INR 66,900 for wifi + cellular variants of 64GB and 256GB.

iPad Air will run on iPadOS 14 and will also support the all-new second-generation Apple Pencil which costs INR 10,900 additionally. Another big similarity between iPad Air and iPad Pro is that it’ll also support the Apple’s Magic Keyboard and Smart Keyboard Folio that will cost INR 27,900 and INR 15,900, respectively.
