Xiaomi’s Mi 10 series already contains several phones that the company had launched recently. But it looks like the Chinese brand is planning to add a new phone to the family, which reportedly will be powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 870 SoC. Though during the launch of this chipset, Qualcomm had confirmed that Xiaomi would be using Snapdragon 870 in its next flagship, it wasn’t clear what phone it would be. Now, reports claim that it’ll be a variant of the Mi 10 that will use that chipmaker’s latest chipset.
Mi 10 Variant With Snapdragon 870 SoC Specs (Expected)
As said before, the reports about this phone claim that it will feature Qualcomm’s newly launched SoC, the Snapdragon 870. However, these reports don’t mention any other details about the upcoming phone. But we expect that the ‘upcoming’ handset will offer the same hardware as the original Mi 10 does. In case if this turns out to be true, then the new edition of the phone should have similar specs. Notably, the Mi 10 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with curved edges and a 90Hz refresh rate.
Further, the highlight of this new variant is its processor, the Snapdragon 870 chipset, which could be paired with 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. For cameras, the Mi 10 gets a quad rear camera setup with a massive 108MP primary sensor. The other three cameras include a 13MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front panel, there may be a 20MP selfie camera for taking pictures and video calling.
Additionally, the phone may pack a 4,780mAh battery with support for 30W fast wired charging and 30W wireless charging. Some reports rumor that Xiaomi may offer 10W reverse wireless charging with this phone too. Most importantly, the leak also claims that the upcoming Xiaomi handset could be priced around CNY 3,500 (roughly $542).
