Vivo Launches Its First-Ever Smartwatch In China

Vivo has finally entered the wearable tech-segment by launching its first-ever smartwatch called Vivo Watch that arrives in 2 different sizes and will be available for sale from September 29, 2020.

The Vivo Watch is a round power-packed smartwatch available in 42mm and 46mm sizes with a brushed ceramic bezel, 316L stainless steel body, leather, and flexible fluoroelastomer strap which gives a premium look and feel. Both the variants are available in two color options each. The 42mm variant is available in Mocha Brown color, which comprises brown strap and dial, and the Secret Summer Orange, which has both black strap and dial. Whereas, the 46mm variant is available in Shadow Black color, which has both black strap and dial, and a brown color which has a brown strap and silver dial.

Vivo Watch specifications

The ST miniature main control processor powers this new Vivo watch, along with the Apollo ultra-low power coprocessor and 2GB of RAM. Vivo Watch is 5 ATM water resistance and can last up to 10 minutes in 50 meters deep water.

Surprisingly, both the variants 42mm and 46mm have a slight difference with the 42mm variant sporting two round buttons on the right side and the 46mm sporting two flat buttons on the right side. The smaller smartwatch has 1.19 inches AMOLED display of resolution 390×390 pixels and 326ppi pixel density, whereas the larger one sports a 1.39 inches of 454×454 resolution.

The 42mm variant weighs 35.6 grams and sports a 226mAh battery which company claims to give 9 days of battery whereas the 46mm variant weighs 46.8 grams and has a 478mAh battery that gives double the battery given by the 42mm variant i.e.,18 days of battery.

Vivo Watch features

Talking about the features, the smartwatch has a blood oxygen monitor, sleep monitor along with a 5-core optical heart rate monitor to record stress. The smartwatch also has 11 sports modes namely outdoor running, indoor running, outdoor walking, swimming, cycling, indoor cycling, mountain climbing, trail running, elliptical machine, free training, and high-intensity interval training.

Moreover, it can perform basic functions like showing notifications, controlling music, setting up an alarm, and it also comes with a voice assistant, Jovi. The smartwatch also includes NFC for bus and subway access in almost 300 cities in China.

Apart from that, it includes Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, air pressure and altitude sensor, ambient light sensor, and a geomagnetic sensor.

Pricing and availability

Interestingly, both the variants of the Vivo Watch costs CNY 1,299(INR 14,074). The pre-booking has already started and the smartwatch will be available for sale from September 29, 2020.

As of now, it is only available in China and can be pre-booked from Vivo’s official website and there is no information when this smartwatch will be available internationally.
