World of Warcraft and its Ny’alotha, The Waking City Raid

World of Warcraft, also called WoW is near and dear to many people’s hearts. It is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, created by the American company Blizzard Entertainment, and released in the year 2004. Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) refers to games in which thousands of players may participate online together. It’s journey started from the ‘original’ game, then referred to as vanilla or classic, and all the way up to the eighth expansion now, the “Battle for Azeroth.” The game is funded by a subscription-based model, with well over 10 million players paying $15 per month for the right to access the gargantuan open worlds that make up the land of Azeroth and the game’s other planets.

This hugely popular online role-playing game takes place within Warcraft’s virtual world called Azeroth. Azeroth has densely packed cities separated by stretches of open country, and also relatively unexplored areas like jungles and caves. The game gives players the ability to fast travel and the players can move instantly from remote areas like Zul’Gurub, back to cities when needed. For example, to stock up the supplies, the players need to go back to cities from the remote areas. In the game, there is an outbreak of a viral disease, similar to that like COVID-19, and the powerful players who are infected with the virus can carry it to mass population centers before they die or get healed.

To enter the game, the player needs to select a server which in the game is referred to as realm.” Each server/realm acts as an individual copy of the virtual world of the game, available as Normal, and Roleplay. The “Normal” realm is a regular type where the gameplay is focussed on completing quests and defeating monsters with player vs player fights. In this mode, roleplay is optional. The “Roleplay” realm functionally works the same way as the “Normal” realm but is mainly focused on players role-playing the character.

Ny’alotha is the fifth raid of Battle for Azeroth that was opened in January in the Visions of N’Zoth content patch. To enter Ny’alotha raid, there is a different way for the entrance from the usual raid entrances. The raid entrance keeps changing depending on the zone currently being attacked by N’Zoth and his minions. The assault is always up at all times during Visions of N’Zoth, and hence the raid entrance to Ny’alotha. The entrance changes once every week and you can see the zone that currently has the Ny’alotha entrance by searching for the obelisk icon on your map.

When Uldum is under attack by the forces of N’Zoth, the entrance is by the upper level of the Vir’naal Dam, at the central part of Uldum. When the Vale of Eternal Blossoms is under attack, the entrance is by Whitepetal Lake at the central part of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. If you’re really passionate about World of Warcraft and want to gear in the latest raid quickly, think about purchasing Ny’alotha single items boost.
