Nokia 8.3 5G Starts Receiving Android 11 Update in 27 Countries: Check Details

Nokia launched the Nokia 8.3 5G back in March 2020, and now in less than a year of its launch, the smartphone is receiving the latest Android OS — the Android 11. The phone has reportedly started receiving the Android 11 update in phases, ensuring a smooth rollout for all users. A Nokia staff member confirmed the news of this latest OS upgrade through an official community post. Reportedly, the update is rolling out to Nokia 8.3 5G phones in 27 countries during the first phase/wave.

According to the official community post by Nokia, the Wave 1 rollout of the Android 11 for Nokia 8.3 5G will include the following countries: Bahrain, Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Iceland, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Lithuania, Macau, Morocco, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Tunisia, the UAE, the US, and Vietnam. Unfortunately, India is not included in this list, meaning the update will not roll out for Indian users during Wave 1. However, we expect the company to push it for phones in India during Wave 2.

As per Nokia, ten percent of the regions included in Wave 1 will receive the update immediately. By February 5, the company claims to update over 50 percent of the eligible users. Further, the company says that it’ll update 100 percent of the markets listed above by February 7, 2021. As said before, the update will have second wave of rollout, and it may include India along with more countries.

Further, the new update for Nokia 8.3 5G is expected to bring the usual Android features to the phone, such as conversation bubbles, screen recording, improved media controls, and more. Additionally, the eligible devices will receive one-time-permission improvements and other privacy upgrades as well.

If you are an eligible Nokia 8.3 5G user, then you will receive an update notification on your device. Alternatively, you can check for the update manually by heading to the System updates section in your phone settings.
