The Mobile market is stacked up with the furious competition with offerings from companies all over the world. Companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus and Motorola have been a game changer in the recent years. They have literally changed the mobile experience in the mid-range segment by bringing up great phones at much cheaper prices. Xiaomi is again all set to launch two new devices. The devices rumoured to be named “Comet” and “Sirius” are expected to fall in the upper mid-range segment. Going by the reports of XDA, Xiaomi is working on two unannounced devices powered by Snapdragon’s 710 chipset.
The chipset itself has not been announced by Snapdragon yet. According to XDA developers, the chipset is rebranded version of the 670 chipsets from Snapdragon. Furthermore the source claims, Qualcomm has stopped the development of 670 chipsets and have renamed it to Snapdragon 710. The company is planning to introduce the new chipset with dual-core high-end CPU cluster and hexacore low-end CPU cluster. This architecture is supported by ARM’s DynamicIQ technology. If the 710 ever comes to life, it is going to be Snapdragon’s most powerful offering in the mid-tier segment.
