This tool is available in two versions – Speedy and Pro.
WonderFox DVD Ripper Speedy is a free version, designed for less demanding users. It allows you to instantly rip movies from DVDs, but we only have the MPG format as the target. The upside, however, is that the MPG format is supported by virtually every device, and the videos ripped from DVDs by WonderFox DVD Ripper Speedy do not lose their quality, especially when we choose the “High quality” profile.
WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro is a more professional version, available for free trial download, which is primarily equipped with huge possibilities to adjust the output format and support for any protected DVDs. We can convert DVD movies to all popular file formats, such as MP4, AVI, MKV, WMV, MOV and many, many more. Rip DVD Movies with WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro
Regardless of which version you choose, the program’s operation is the same. It’s easy to handle.
After launching the program, a window will appear in which we have to choose the source, including DVD Disc, ISO Image and DVD Folder.
If you have a movie on a DVD, put it in your computer’s DVD drive and click on “DVD Disc” and select the drive letter with the disc.
WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro will now detect all content on the DVD. The advantage of WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro is that it automatically detects and highlights the blue label “Main movie”. This is your main purpose, which should be marked as the only one on the list – the rest are trailers or promotional materials added to the movie disc.
On the right side of the WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro UI, you can adjust the settings of the target file. If you use DVD Ripper Pro, you can click on the vertical “Output Format” button, where you can choose the format and target device.
We can also adjust the quality settings. There are three sets of settings available – High Quality, Medium Quality and Low Quality. Higher quality means a larger size of the output file, as well as a longer ripping time. However, if we want to maintain the highest quality, select “High Quality”.
In addition, we’ll see additional options by pressing the “Settings” button at the lower right corner and customize individual audio and video parameters. We can change the target video resolution, bitrate, adjust the volume, etc.
At the very bottom, we find the “Output folder”. Here you need to select the folder to which the ripped movie will be saved in the selected format. Click the three dots icon, and then select the folder where you want to save the movie. When everything is ready, just click on the “RUN” button.
The movie will start to rip. The time of ripping depends on the power of the processor and the graphics card – in the case of a computer with an i5-4440 processor and a GTX 970 graphics card, this process was about 13 minutes.
