After months of leaks and rumors, Google has finally launched the Pixel 4a at a very competitive price starting at $349. This is by far the cheapest Pixel device and will go head to head with the likes of OnePlus Nord and iPhone SE 2020.
Google has been known for its stock Android-based smartphones with exceptional computational photography performance. What Pixel 4a brings to the table, is exactly that, but with an affordable price tag. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL offered the best camera experience at a mid-range price last year. Pixel 4a is going to one-up that with its offering, and a less expensive price tag.
Pixel 4a Specifications
The Pixel 4a comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As with all Google phones, it will run Stock Android 10 on its 5.8-inch Full HD+ OLED screen. The phone weighs in at just 143 grams due to its all-plastic built. There is a single 12.2-megapixel camera on the back and an 8-megapixel camera to the front.
If you don’t already know, Google is known for its computational photography algorithms and we expect this phone to deliver exceptionally in the camera department. The battery is rated at 3140 mAh and there is an 18W fast charger included with the phone. Due to the 60Hz refresh rate and stock Android, we hope that it’ll last a full day with ease.
Availability, Sale and Pricing
The Google Pixel 4a is priced at $349 and will be available in most countries in the world in a few weeks. It will only launch in India later in October as far as reports say. Buyers will also get 3 months of free Google One trial for storing up to 100 GB data on Google Cloud services. Just Black is the only color available, which isn’t a problem as such.
It is worth noting that Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G are going to be launched soon too. Google teased the same on their Twitter reveal GIF here. These phones also have their own page, which can be found here.
