After Qualcomm’s release of the Snapdragon 865+, gaming phone brands have been launching phones in a row. The Black Shark 3S is also set to launch on July 31st, following the Black Shark 3 with some incremental upgrades. The Black Shark 3 and 3 Pro were launched in China, early in March this year. For those not aware, Black Shark is Xiaomi’s Sub-brand for gaming-centric smartphones.
What We Know About The Launch
Black Shark has used Weibo confirming the launch of its Black Shark 3S smartphone in China on July 31. A series of posters released seem to tease a 120Hz display refresh and 270Hz touch sampling rate. These would allow for ultra-smooth elite gaming experiences with top-notch graphics. A separate video also confirms the Black Shark 3S to own a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel from Samsung, alongside MEMC 3.0 technology.
The launch event for Black Shark 3S is scheduled for 3 pm local time(12:30 PM IST) on 31st July. We could also expect Tencent’s frame rate sync technology, along with a special limited edition Tencent variant of the phone. We expect the phone to be priced starting around CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 36,800), similar to the Black Shark 3.

Black Shark 3S specifications (expected)
For the specifications, we largely hope to see most of Black Shark 3, with some updates. Here is what we expect – Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, 120Hz AMOLED display, and UFS 3.1 storage (up from UFS 3.0). Other specifications and features like the trigger buttons for gaming, RGB, and the design are probably going to be the same as what we’ve seen before.
Xiaomi also showed off its 120W charging innovation recently. So, even if we are expecting the Black Shark 3 to feature 65W charging, we hope something faster comes up for us!
